Outreach Team

The Swansea Police Department is a participating agency of Bristol County Outreach, a law enforcement-led post-overdose outreach program that seeks to facilitate access to treatment for those struggling with substance use disorder and/or behavioral health issues, as well as offering support to families and friends.

BCO aims to help individuals who may be misusing substances or exhibiting behavioral health needs. We provide outreach with our community partners to discuss resource options with the individuals and their family members.

In partnership with BCO, the Swansea Police Department:

  • Enters all overdoses into BCO’s innovative, real-time Overdose Critical Incident Management System
  • Commits officers to be trained and participate as BCO Database Designees
  • Commits officers to be trained and participate in Overdose Follow-Up Visits along with Recovery Coaches, Clinicians, and/or Social Workers

The Swansea Police Department also has four officers specifically trained to provide these services. To reach the department, call (508) 674-8464, or contact the trained officers directly:

If you or a loved one is looking for assistance from BCO, call (774) 901-4713.
