Firearms Licensing

Applications

Applicants are urged to carefully consider Question (4) found on page 2 of the application.

The question refers to any criminal charges brought forth against you, in any court of law, regardless of the outcome, age of the charge, or your age at the time of the offense. If you appeared in court as a defendant and the charges brought against you were filed, dismissed, CWOF (continued without a finding), sealed, guilty, not guilty, etc., you must answer “  ” to the question and provide as much detail as possible. It is your responsibility to inform the licensing authority.

The key word is APPEARED, not necessarily arrested.

You do not have to list non-criminal traffic offenses.

Having been arrested and convicted of a crime does not necessarily prohibit you from getting an LTC or FID. You can be denied for not answering the question correctly.

Understand this applies for all applications. You must disclose all appearances in court for criminal offenses on renewals even if you have disclosed on prior applications. IT IS NOT ONLY  NEW APPEARANCES.

Be advised that if your application is not completed truthfully or accurately, your LTC or FID request can be automatically denied.
