Swansea Police Department Hiring Full-Time Officer

The Swansea Police Department is hiring!

Chief Mark Foley is seeking a full-time, academy-trained police officer to join the professional, community-oriented Swansea Police Department. 

The starting salary for the position is $78,792 per year. Additional benefits include shift differentials, educational incentives and robust health insurance plans.

Interested applicants must be a U.S. citizen of at least 21 years of age with either 60 college credits, two years of active military service, or four years National Guard/Reserve Service while possessing a GED or High School diploma.

Applicants must also have a valid U.S. driver’s license, be eligible to obtain a Class A license to carry a firearm and be able to obtain and maintain Massachusetts POST Commission Certification.

Most importantly, applicants must have completed a full-time Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee or another state-certified police academy. 

Out-of-state officers must obtain an advisory letter from the MPTC regarding whether they may qualify for an exception. More information on the exemption process may be found here
